Budapest, Hungary

I'm a sixth grade teacher who loves to travel. I also have an interest in writing, and many of the entries on this blog have also been published in my local newspaper. I have also written a novel for middle grade students called EVIL vs. the Freedom Force: The Quest for Mind Control.

I've been to four continents, 16 countries, and 39 states. See my map below for details. My goal is to visit all seven continents someday. I don't speak any other languages, but that doesn't stop me! Where there's a will, there's a way! I love to travel and consider it the ultimate adventure.

Recent adventures include Aruba, a six-country tour across Europe, New York City, a six state tour of the American west, Florida, Hawaii, and more! Bucket list destinations include New Zealand, Australia, and Iceland. I also want to visit all seven continents...only three more to go!

I encourage my students to think outside the box, which is what I like to do, as well. Whether it's traveling, writing, or teaching, I'm always looking for a way to do things bigger and better and more creatively.

When it comes to parenting and kids, I believe strongly that children should be taught to be responsible, respectful, and self-controlled. They should also respect the rights of others. I'm also an advocate of less TV and more reading! I have a series of parenting articles posted on this blog that will hopefully help other parents as they strive to raise their children along these markers.

In all I do, my first goal is to follow the Bible and God's plan for me. This is the lens through which I approach my life. The Bible is what guides my morality and my choices.
